Illegal Immigration - The Modern Day Slavery

Community Watchdog Project has recently updated our Frequently Asked Questions, and one of the issues that we addressed was illegal immigration as the modern day slavery. Politicans such as City of New Haven Mayor John DeStefano support and facilitate this humantarian disaster through policies that encourage illegal immigration. The Mayor needs to be voted out of office for his support of this kind of behavior.

New Haven: Enter At Your Own Risk

General Order 06-2

On December 21, 2006, New Haven became Connecticut's first official "sanctuary city". Chief Francisco Ortiz, at the direction of Mayor John DeStefano, signed General Order 06-2 on December 14, establishing the department's policy and procedures concerning citizenship status, enforcement of immigration laws, and the disclosure of confidential information. The order formalized six procedures that the New Haven Police officers were to follow and already had been following.

General Order 06-2:

New Haven Police are prohibited from detaining illegal aliens with outstanding ICE "administrative" warrants that appear in the NCIC database

A little insight into the type of individuals that have outstanding "administrative" warrants - they are not as innocent as the Mayor purports

Outlined below are gang arrests by the ICE offices in Boston, Long Island, NYC, Newark, Albany, Hartford, New Haven, Providence and Springfield, Mass. We will focus on the ones with "administrative" charges, since that is what we were talking about.

There were 963 total arrests of alien gangsters by those offices from February 2005 - September 2007. Of those 963 arrests, 268 were charged with criminal immigration violations, and 695 with "administrative" immigration charges. Of those with "administrative" charges, 521 had a criminal history (75%). Of those, 361 had a violent criminal history (69%), including 18 murder or attempted murder, 9 armed robbery, 10 assault on a police officer, and 12 rape or sex offenses.

Example

This gentleman was in the ICE gang arrest database and had "administrative" immigration charges filed against him, in addition to other crimes. He is the the kind of person that the NHPD might be ignoring when they come across an "administrative" immigration warrant - I think it's time to tell the Mayor, and reporters like Paul Bass of the New Haven Indepdendent, to stop lying to the public.

ARRAIGNMENT IN YONKERS “SWEET 15” SHOOTING

Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore announced that Yunior Flores (DOB 9/18/87) of 115 Livingston Avenue, Yonkers, New York was arraigned on one count of Murder in the Second Degree, a class “A” Felony and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, a class “C” Felony.

On January 6th, 2007, at approximately 11:35pm, in front of the Portuguese Community Center at 117 Park Avenue in Yonkers, where a sweet 15 birthday party was ongoing, an altercation broke out and in the ensuing melee the defendant shot 18 year old Eliazar Segundo-Lopez in the chest.

Police responded and he was found by lying on the street across from the community center. He was removed to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Flores faces a minimum fifteen years to life in state prison. His remand status is continued at the Westchester County Jail. His next court appearance will be on June 5th, 2007. Assistant District Attorney Paula Branca-Santos, of the Superior Court Trial Division, will prosecute the case.

Freedom of Information

Dustin W. Gold and Community Watchdog Project, and Chris Powell, Managing Editor for the Journal Inquirer, are named as complainants in a Freedom of Information lawsuit against Mayor John DeStefano and the City of New Haven.

The complainants are seeking to make public the list of applicants that have received an Elm City Resident Card - many may remember the ID Card has been heavily marketed to illegal aliens.

Connecticut Department of Emergency Management and Homeland Security Commissioner James Thomas, has intervened in the case on behalf of Mayor John DeStefano. He is being represented by the arrogant Assistant Attorney General Steven Strom who apparently holds a personal grudge against CWP.

Jodi Rell on March 13, 2008 warning her that CT Commissioner of Emergency Management and Homeland Security James Thomas would be testifying in behalf of the City of New Haven's Elm City ID.

On April 7, 2008, Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff delivered the keynote speech at the Yale Law School at its first Heyman Federal Public Service Colloquium.

Although, Mr. Chertoff disucussed several homeland security issues, he made a point of addressing the serious threat imposed on the American public by MS13.
